Ways & Means - Fundraising Ideas for Teams
2009/2010 MORINVILLE MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
WAYS & MEANS
Attn: Team Coaches and Managers…
All team fundraising events/sales must be approved by the Director of Ways and Means.
All 50/50 sales, raffles, etc. must have an Alberta Gaming License. Each team is responsible for getting their own license. You can purchase your license from Drayton Insurance Registries in Morinville, and they can help you. The cost should be about $10.00. The license must be in your team name; example (Morinville Mustangs Novice A). Please DO NOT put your team license under Morinville Minor Hockey Association.
Teams should be fundraising to help with hockey expenses only. Funds should be used for tournament entry fees, exhibition games, extra ice for practices and possibly MMHA clothing. We should not be fundraising for a huge year end party or non hockey related events. Keep your fundraising within reason to your team budget.
Good Luck with your Fundraising Activities.
Thank you,
Director of Ways & Means

CLARIFICATION FOR OBTAINING 50/05 LICENSE
I am sorry for the misunderstanding of obtaining a AGLC License then another license from Drayton. You have to first go on line to
www.aglc.gov.ab.ca and print off the form "Eligibility for Raffle Licence (Total Ticket Value $10,000 and Less Only). Fill out the form and fax it off to AGLC (supplied on form). They will send it back via fax with a raffle license number on it. You have to purchase your 50/50 raffle tickets and get a copy of your teams' home game dates, go to Drayton Insurance, with your completed faxed back AGLC licence form and fill out the Drayton supplied form with the number range of your 50/05 tickets and proof of the dates you will be selling (off your home game schedule). It's still important to use your team name: Morinville Mustangs Novice B1. Once that is all done you can then purchase the registries license from Drayton.

TEAM FUNDRAISING EVENT WITH SOBEYS
CONTACT: STUART TRENCHARD or WENDY SKJERSVEN @780-939-4418Please share this with your team!
The team players are responsible to work a 4 hr or 6 hr shift at Sobeys, and your responsibility is as follows:
- bring grocery karts back into the store
- packing groceries
- offering to taking the groceries out to the person's vehicle
- tidy up the cashier's work space
- sweep floors
- take garbage out
- other associated duties
It is your team Manager’s responsibility to contact Stuart or Wendy at Sobeys to book your teams shift. Sobeys requires a list of the players name and what day and shift they are working. This fundraiser pays each player $9.00/hr per shift and all the money made gets paid out to the team.
We want our players to show respect to the customer, be polite and courteous, and ask the customer if they found everything they are looking for. Set a good example for Morinville Minor Hockey!
There is a dress code at Sobeys; black pants and white shirt, black shoes; we would like the team players to wear their jersey. (If you don't have black shoes, don't stress over that) Keep in mind, you are doing this for your team to earn money for tournaments and extra exhibition games and practices. To make this a successful and easy fundraiser you need all players to participate. Adult supervision is recommended to ensure the this fundraising opportunity is successful and continues to be offered by Sobeys.
A Special Thank you to Stuart and Wendy for offering this opportunity!!
